Because modding should be fun!

Introducing Lenny's Mod Loader, a unique way of installing and maintaining mods in Grand Theft Auto V.

Stop worrying about where to place things, stress no longer over confusing files or folders and effortlessly enable or disable the loading of individual mods as you please.

Simple Modding

  • Easily replace any existing game file.
  • Support for adding new peds, vehicles and props.
  • Works alongside other modding methods such as OpenIV.

Advanced Features

  • Single entry replacement - replace the handling entry of a single vehicle.
  • Add or replace individual ambient ped and vehicle model set entries.
  • Easily add new multiplayer freemode ped clothing and props.

Click and Play

  • Seamless integration with LCPDFR.com's Downloads Portal
  • 'One Click Service' - install supported mods from LCPDFR.com in just one click!
  • Load addon vehicles into your game at runtime without restarting.

Simplifying the installation of almost anything into a couple of clicks - this is modding, reinvented.

Vision

The general idea of Lenny's Mod Loader is to provide an easy way to install file modifications. This is achieved in two different ways depending on whether existing resources in the game are to be 'replaced' or if new resources are added to the game as 'addons'. To replace resources, the game file system can be modified on a per-file basis allowing you to quickly change the content of files without touching any RPFs. To add new resources, the new content can be loaded from disk directly into the game, again without the need for any RPF changes. Goodbye to patchday17 and dlclist.xml. Certain mods, such as vehicles, can even be loaded at runtime, making choosing your new favorite ride a breeze.

Ultimately we hope to provide a fully-fledged Mod Manager UI allowing you to quickly install, remove, enable and disable modifications. Depending on the type of the modification, loading and unloading them at runtime will be supported. An advanced integration with the existing LCPDFR.com downloads portal will allow you to install mods from the site directly to your game folder (and even your currently running game for certain mod types) with just one click. This One Click Service will be part of the Mod Manager offering.

Drastically simplifying the installation and maintenance of mods, Lenny's Mod Loader makes installing massive conversions like the upcoming Coastal Callouts a breeze.

Features

Even though Lenny's Mod Loader is early access software, it is already capable of supporting a wide range of mods including very complex installations such as Coastal Callouts. Despite this, most of the main features are already implemented including loading certain mods such as vehicles into your game at runtime!

  • Easy replacement of any game file

  • Ability to load new vehicles

  • Ability to load new peds (including components)

  • Ability to load new props

  • Ability to load new maps (limited to maps without a manifest currently, maps with manifests need to be placed in an RPF and loaded from there)

  • Ability to load RPFs directly (especially useful for file types not yet supported)

  • Ability to overwrite or add individual ambient ped and vehicle model set entries

  • Ability to enable and disable mods as well as manage their load order to extend already installed mods

  • Advanced features such as single entry replacement, e.g. only replacing the handling entry of one vehicle

  • Much more!

Future Development

Many features are already available, but there is a still a lot of work to be done. Below you can find some of the most important things that are still being worked on.

  • Mod Manager UI (including all features laid out above)

  • Deeper integration with the website (for instance mod lists that can be shared)

  • Visual load order management

  • Support for unloading mods

  • Support for GXT entries (Implemented in Beta #2)

  • Support for map manifests

  • Support to load individual textures into existing YTDs

  • Support for RDR2 🤠

Note that Lenny's Mod Loader is early access software and is not yet fully complete.  Many features are still being developed and are likely to receive major overhauls in the near future.
